I found this book on Amazon that I thought we all might enjoy reading this month.
Next month, we can all get together and discuss it.

a little sumen, sumen aout the book
Mon, May 5, 2008 - 3:03 PMHere's to the three greatest pleasures in life: a cigarette before and a martini after. Drinking, Smoking & Screwing celebrates these less-than-holy pursuits and unlocks the sweet mystery of sin with a sordid selection of essays, stories, excerpts, and poetry from noted libertines such as Mark Twain, Charles Bukowski, Henry Miller, Vladimir Nabokov, Spalding Gray, and Dorothy Parker. -

Wed, May 7, 2008 - 5:25 AMI dunno if I can moderate (the Atlantic Ocean is deep and wide, and books don't hurry from the other side).
But I volunteer to take attendance and smoke cigarettes and drink marinis. -

one of my managers and I concocted that at a bar close to the hotel we work in,, ps,,managers and us "uniforms" aren't supposed to fraternize,, but he is this wild Aussie "Bear",, ya know what I mean,,,love him!! -

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
Re: Our book club reading for the month
Fri, May 9, 2008 - 1:12 AMNo, I meant that a gay lesbian transvestite sounds like s/he could be volatile. It would be like a woman driving a pick-up truck dressed as a man, but making campy jokes and Judy Garland references.
I found another suggestion for Brenda's book group yesterday:
Marcus Boon, The Road to Excess: A History of Writers on Drugs -

Re: Our book club reading for the month
Tue, May 20, 2008 - 10:07 PMI can't wait for you to read it first. hee hee......I haven't read enough this year to be considered a reader.
Now, tell me why your eyed bleed watching that show. I know....poor Tina is gettin on in years and Cher doesn't look like Cher anymore.
Hey, I just saw a strange looking woman driving a truck and smoking a cigar. Might have been that trans that JM is talking about. Think so? -
-
Re: Our book club reading for the month
Yesterday, 2:37 AMBren,,The show was taped in Las Vegas,, and Oprah can be sooo very ass kissing at times,, hence the eye bleeding thing,, Tina looks Fabulous a t 68 yr;s old, Cher has had so much "work" done,, wish she would have chosen to age gracefully like Tina,,,,But all n' all, they both still "rank" up there
Okay,,I have the book but as much as I wanted to start reading the book at work,, we were supposed to be "not busy",, I haven'thad a moment to start yet,, does any else have a copy yet? It looks like I will be home this weekend,, so I will have opportunity..
Don'tknow about the strange looking woman driving a truck and smoking a cigar,,,Mybe JM may know her from his shadey past.....
