Another survey:
Of the times you loan a pen to someone, how often do you get it back?
As I have sort of the Bob Dole syndrome (cannot feel comfortable without pen in hand), I'm the person who gets asked for pens. Usually, either they come back right away, or not at all. With or without their caps. And I'm particular: I only really like one particular brand of Japanese pens that I buy in bulk every summer, and the closest outlet is in Paris. Yesterday, someone borrowed my pen on the bus, didn't give it back, and I figured, jeez, there goes another one. But surprise. I saw him on the bus again this morning, and he handed it over. Bing. Faith in humanity restored.

Re: Pens
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 1:27 AMJm , I too am very particular about my pens/pencils, I try and OT loan them out, and if someone does use it, I immediately ask for it's return,, it is a "personal" thing for me,
AND you got it back how surreal is that! Humanity does exist! Dignity, respect it really is out there,, Prayers will always be answered, Faith restored,, That was amazing Japanese Pen Return,, I know how that felt!!
XOXO,, Miss Phae
PS,, I left my bus pass on the bus and lo n' behold i got it back the next day,, now that was a rare return, especially in San Francisco these days,, Thugs abounding,, What UP?!!

Re: Pens
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 9:52 AM9 times out of 10 if I loan out a pen, if I loan out a pen, I'll either get it back right away or not see it again. Usually I won't see it again. Pens/pencils disappear constantly and don't get returned. -

Mon, May 5, 2008 - 7:09 AMI think getting our pens back depends on how alert we are at the moment. -
-
Re: Pens
Wed, May 7, 2008 - 12:20 AMspeaking of being alert,,I once had a roommate and her 9yr.old son,,she wasn't very nice towards him,, would tell him she wished she hadn't had him,, WRONG thing to say to a child,,and when she was disciplining him, would yell at him to "Get Conscious!".... It really galled me her attitude,,and told her so.. and kicked her out, after she sent her son to live with her Mom,,and after she ripped me off,,,her BF kicked in the front door too,, did not need that nonsense in my abode,, now back to sharpening my Prisma Colors.....
Sorry about the segue friends... -

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
Re: Pens
Yesterday, 4:49 AMBlack, black, black and only ever black. Unless I'm grading papers - then I love a nice, thick, bleed-through-the-paper-and-scare-your-ass-off maroon.
For a Cross pen, I like medium fine.
For other pens, either 0.5 or 0.38.
Although, for love letters, I like calligraphy pens, too.
They just opened a new Muji five minutes from my place... I'll be stockpiling.
