Huh? Look, Lily Barton offed herself...I mean, before they found "The Letter". C'mon, I know someone is getting paid to rehash this stuff but how, how could someone take precious time trying to deny that she gave up and faded away on some chlorohydrate? Well, at least someone got paid (again) to rehash all sorts of marginal theories on how Lily Barton might have "accidently" offed herself. Groan.

Re: Rumors of fictional suicide?
Wed, November 21, 2007 - 2:44 AMWell, you know. Just in case it wasn't quite clear.
More shocking news, kids: Tristan and Iseult really did do the nasty, and Nick Carraway really did dump Jordan Baker on purpose because she made him sick to his stomach.
I dunno, though. I think a lot of people who kill themselves don't really say, "Now I'm going to definitively kill myself." I think a lot of them just say, "Ooof. Life is tiresome. I'll just take some of this and see what happens." I mean I think there's often a reluctance to admit to oneself one knows exactly what one is doing. -

Re: Rumors of fictional suicide?
Wed, November 21, 2007 - 5:09 AMI totally agree JM. Just like when a person points a gun to their head, they must be thinking.......I think I will see if I can get this bullet to go all the way though without doing any damage to my brain.
